Year two for Hop On Beer Tours and the four Queenstown Breweries is underway.
Year one has brought some great people, great surprises and of course great beer.
The customers have been a little bit of everything. Honeymooners (many), groups from Auckland and the rest of New Zealand escaping for a long weekend, groups of guys from the states who chatted more about sports than beer, groups of ladies out craft beer tasting for the day and a daughter and fathers day out. This proves that apart from being 18 years of age, beer has no boundaries.
The best part has been seeing peoples reactions when they find out how sour a sour beer can actually be or that pairing with the right food, a dark beer can be quite delicious or wow, that 8% beer doesn't taste that strong.
Year one has been super enjoyable. Special thanks to all the customers who have given great advise or left great reviews. And a special thanks to Queenstown's four great breweries that have put on nothing but great Queenstown Craft Beers.
Cheers to year 2
Dry July? I don’t think so.
Time to get the pints pouring.
Had a hard day on the snow? Take a load off and adventure around our awesome breweries. Think of it as your “rest day” or a bit of “carb loading”.
It’s sad to say but to be honest Queenstown’s breweries are looking a lot better than the ski fields anyway. Also atHop On Beer Tours, we aren’t weather dependent. Snowing = beer tour, windy = inside beer tour, sunshine = outside beer tour.
Also there is more white froth on the tops of the tasting glasses than the tops of the mountains.
It’s a no brainer, Hop On with us this July.

GABS, Beervana and The NZ Brewers guild awards are just around the corner and we know that the Queenstown breweries will be well represented. As well as that, we are told that Smith’s Craft Beer House will be holding their 4th annual NZIPA competition which is rumored to be the largest in the country.
The Aussies are invading Auckland and bringing a few of their beers with them, which isn’t a bad thing. This takes place on the 29th of June at the ASB showgrounds.
Blow your mind at BEERVANA on the 9th and 10th of August in Wellington. We won’t reveal any secrets as to which Queenstown Beers will be making an appearance this year but we will let you know that the concourse of Wellington stadium will be rocking.
The prestigious New Zealand Beer awards are held on the 29th of June for the 14th year. With well over 100 different breweries entering last year it really is the who’s who of beer in this country. Hop On Beer Tours wants to wish Cargo Brewery, Altitude Brewing, Searchlight Brewery and Canyon Food & Brew Co all the best this award season.
In the meantime, these great beers are easily accessible by joining us for a day out with not only great views, company and food but great Queenstown Beers. Be sure to Hop On with us this June and use the promo code JUNE to save 20% off of tours this month.
